Cliff Lloyd-Vice President. Funeral arrangements

(Posted on 31/03/18)

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Cliff Lloyd who passed away at the Countess of Chester Hospital on Wednesday 28th March 2018. For a great many years Cliff served as Tip Top's deputy Musical Director and has played in our orchestras at Theatr Clwyd, Chester Gateway and many other venues. I have had the pleasure of working alongside Cliff over the years including Tip Top's last show at Theatr Clwyd in September 2017 when he allowed himself to be dressed as a spaceman while working as a key member of the band. He took it all in his stride as he entered into the feel of the show and demonstrated his customary good sense of humour.

I know that I speak for all of us in Tip Top when I can say that Cliff, as well as being an outstanding pianist and musician, was highly regarded and respected by all who came into contact with him. Nothing seemed to faze him and he always made time to chat to everyone.  At rehearsals he sat quietly at his keyboard awaiting his cues-which he never missed. Our thoughts are with his wife Joyce, daughter Tracy and son Andrew.
Throughout our times together I have had many a laugh with Cliff about his predictable programme profile when he would always include "...Cliff resides in the picturesque village of Holt..." Well, Holt is a little less attractive this week as we say goodbye to one of its finest gentlemen.

Cliff's funeral will take place on Friday 20th April at midday at St Chad's Church, Bridge Street, Holt LL13 9JP followed by committal at Wrexham Crematorium at 1:30 pm
