Getting Involved With Tip Top
Membership
Tip Top Productions are always looking for new members to keep the company moving. We enjoy seeing new faces at each production, whether it is for pure enjoyment of helping out or as a principle player on stage. If you would like to become more involved, why not start by joining our membership database and receiving our newsletter? Then come and help front of house and meet some of the team or come audition?
We are keen to promote our membership scheme which has no fixed charge. We do however offer members an opportunity to pay a voluntary contribution to assist with covering the costs of producing professional theatrical experiences for those who wish to. A guide for this is typically between £15 & £25 per year, but feel free to sign up as a member and decide about your contribution once you have become involved. The membership year runs from September 1st to August 31st. If you would like to become a member click here for our membership form.
If you decide you are interested in appearing on stage with Tip Top and you audition successfully then we request an Appearance Fee of £20. This helps towards covering all production costs from wardrobe to props and sets to theatre hire! This fee does not apply if you are helping out with a show either back-stage or Front of house. If you appear on stage in more than one production within a season which starts in September, then the appearance fee is reduced by £5 each subsequent time until you pay only £10 per show.
Join today by completing our membership form or follow the email link from this page if you have specific questions.

This is a remarkable play and offers actors an opportunity to stretch their skills in this Pulitzer Prize winning drama which also became a film starring Meryl Streep.
Peter Swingler would especially like to hear from a black actress who may be interested in the pivotal role of Mrs Muller.
The three other characters are also available for audition
Sister Aloysius
Sister James
Father Flynn

Oleanna
Auditions for the part of John in Mark Newman's production of David Mamet's 'Oleanna', to be performed in January 2011, will be held at The Forum Studio Theatre at 11:00 on Sunday 29th August.
The playing age of the character is approximately 45-55 years old and the actor will need a convincing American accent. As no spare scripts are presently available actors are asked to do their own research on both the play and the character before auditioning, though Mark is happy to discuss both in detail if contacted. Rehearsals will start in mid-November and will likely be on Sundays (11:00-- 14:00) and Tuesday and Thursday evenings (19:30 - 21:30). There will be a break for Christmas after Thursday 23rd December, rehearsals re-commencing in the New Year, from Sunday 2nd January.
The auditions will consist of readings and acted scenes from selected parts of the script. Please contact Mark for any further details about any aspect of the auditions or production.
Shakers
Shakers auditions are to be held on Friday 30th July at 7pm at the Forum Studio Theatre.
For those of you who don't know the piece think of 'Bouncers' for ladies - Every town has its local trendy cocktail bar where everyone wants to be seen, from the local check-out girls to the chinless wonders, from the yuppies to the local lads tittering at the thought of a `long comfortable screw'. We are given a wickedly funny glimpse of this world by the four long-suffering waitresses who work there. Rushed off their feet, underpaid and overworked, they try to smile and help the difficult customers whilst coping with their own personal problems. A fascinating and often hilarious view of the reality which lurks behind the plastic palms and the pina coladas.
As mentioned the cast consists of 4 women who are cocktail waitresses but play out the characters they come across. Therefore I am looking for 4 versatile actresses with a playing age of approx 20-45.
I will not be giving out script prior to the audition. During the audition I will be asking everyone to read from the script but will concentrate on the multi role playing aspect of the play as each character plays a wide range of characters and whoever gets cast needs to be able to switch between characters and accents swiftly. There will also be some movement involved within the show and I will be asking everyone to move at the audition too - nothing too strenous though!
Rehearsals will start Mid August (w-comm 16-22 August) and we will rehearse 3 times a week moving up to 4 the week before the show - I am happy to work around holidays however I will need all 4 cast members to commit to being at each rehearsal as it is very much a company piece and relies on everyone being there and working together.
The show is on 7th-9th October (Thur-Sat) at the Forum Studio Theatre.

The Flint Street Nativity
Director, Steve Davies will be holding open auditions for the play on Monday, 23rd August at 7.30pm at The Forum Studio Theatre. Please note that the actors cast in this production need to be of an age where they could realistically have children of primary school age so it's therefore only really suitable for people with a playing age of 20-50
It will be workshop style audition where you will be asked to play the part of children as well as the adults who are their parents.
You are invited to read the script in advance of the audition so that you can get an understanding of the style of the play. Please contact Steve at the theatre on 01244 341296 or steved@tiptopproductions.co.uk
